What Is DPF Reconditioning?

Regeneration (reconditioning) involves burning away the accumulation of soot from the DPF. Kubota customers have options here. They may choose automatic regeneration. Or they may decide to delay the reconditioning until the equipment is outdoors in a non-combustible location.

How Long Does Kubota Diesel Particulate Filter Cleaning Take?

This process depends on your engine load. Regeneration usually takes around 20 minutes. Kubota equipment operation can often continue during this reconditioning time.

What’s the Difference Between Soot and Ash on a DPF?

Regen Light Flashing?

You have two options when the DPF light on your dashboard starts flashing. When the regen light begins to blink and beep, you’ll know it’s time to recondition. The light will keep on flashing and beeping until you push one of your two options.

You may decide to press the delay button. You will do this if you are in something like a shed or an enclosed area. In this case, the tractor will not begin regeneration. It is not safe to initiate the process yet. The other option is to begin regeneration immediately. Select this if you are outdoors in a non-combustible location.

Always refer to your owner’s manual for proper and safe operation. Many owners give the following tip: when the tractor’s engine is started, press the AUTO REGEN switch. Your auto regeneration feature is now on. You are free to go about your work, and the DPF will automatically recondition. Keeping the RPM up at all times (about 1900 – 2000) will keep the engine temps high enough to aid DPF regeneration.
