Mowing the lawn is a weekly tradition of American life – especially during spring and summer. Perhaps you’re in the market for a new mower to help you get the job done right. Today, we’ll look at Kubota vs Toro zero turn mowers. Our hope is that you’ll determine which one suits you best.
Don’t be lured by low prices alone. There are other things to consider. Join us as we take a brief look at these two mowers and how they compare.
Toro vs. Kubota Zero-turns
Many of the following specs speak to these mowers’ performance, quality, comfort, and style. To keep things consistent, we’ll look at the Kubota Z200 series and the Toro Titan. More specifically, the Kubota Z251KH-54 and the Toro Titan 75302. Both are zero-turn mowers, but which should you choose?

Dimensions
Both the Kubota and the Toro models boast a 54-inch mower deck. As for the tractors themselves, Toros are larger at 81 x 61 x 48 inches. The Kubota comes in at 76.4 x 55.5 x 65 inches.
If you’re looking for a mower that sits up taller but is also more compact for maximum utility around trees and other structures, the Kubota Z200 mower edges out the Toro Titan.
Engine Specs & Speed
Now, let’s look at Toro vs. Kubota zero turn engines and speeds. First, you’re looking at a Toro engine vs. a Kohler Courage engine. The Toro comes in at 24.5 HP, while Kubota punches in at 25 HP.
They’re almost neck-and-neck with forward speed. Toro moves at 8.5 mph, and Kubota at 8. Max reverse speed sees Kubota faster at 4 mph vs. Toro’s 3.8.
Cutting Specs
Mower deck adjustments are exactly the same for these two models. You’ll see height adjustments in increments ranging from 1.5 – 4.5 in ¼ inch increments. The deck height adjustment is more difficult to see on the Toro, and it’s even more difficult to move.
The Kubota control panel makes for smooth adjustments and can easily be seen to your right on the mower.
Transmission
The Kubota is equipped with a commercial-grade hydro-gear transmission. It employs steel cut gears, which add overall life to the transmission. Conversely, the Toro uses a residential transmission with powdered metal gears.

Are Toro Mowers Any Good?
What do you choose when it comes to Kubota vs. Toro zero turn mowers?
It depends on your needs. It’s important to consider the dimensions as you measure spaces between trees, structures, and openings on your property. If you’re looking for a zero-turn mower that will likely move around all your obstacles with ease, Kubota may be your best pick.
Kubota also has two cup holders and storage for both your drink and your phone/keys vs. Toro’s single cup holder and storage. And the Kubota 4-year warranty outruns Toro’s 3-year. The Kubota is also modern in appearance and comes with headlights.
Be sure to do your own comprehensive comparison as you select the best zero-turn mower for your property. We hope this gives you a great starting point, though.
